Our Story
My wife and I are avid rum lovers, and 33 The Rum Bar is our passion project.
We’ve been together for more than 20 years. In our spare time, we’ve collected plenty of bar mats and passport stamps – sampling some of the very best bars in Cheltenham and much, much further afield. It was during a trip to a speciality rum bar in New York City that we found ourselves in particularly good spirits (literally and metaphorically) and the idea hit us: why not us?
Turning all that passion and knowledge into something tangible and establishing a Cheltenham rum bar that showcases the very best from around the world? We couldn’t pass it up. After that, the ideas – like the rum – never stopped flowing.
After returning to the UK, we found the perfect spot which, as it happens, is located opposite our other passion, Magnum Circus Tattoo Studio.
Intimate, welcoming, and away from Cheltenham’s hustle and bustle, 33 The Rum Bar has everything you’d expect from one of the best bars in Cheltenham.

We have always loved games as a family, so we knew we needed to carry that love into the bar for all of you to enjoy! Make sure you have a browse of our shelves – you never know…you may discover your new favourite.
We currently have Yahtzee, Dobble, Skull, Exploding Kittens, Kluster, Chess, Various Uno’s, and cards – to name just a few! Please feel free to send us any suggestions.
Venue Hire
Host your party or event at 33 The Rum Bar – we’re always ready to bring out all the bells and whistles (and bottles) for any occasion.
Got a theme? We can roll with it.
Enjoy control over the sound system – or get a live band hooked up – bring in your caterers, greet guests with welcome drinks, and keep the good times flowing with our hand-crafted cocktail pitchers.
All we ask is that, for external companies, you ensure they’ve got all their paperwork done.
